- Vincenzo Micallo arrived at Ellis Island in the port of New York on the SS Madonna on 28th November 1906. He was 62 years old, married, and occupied as a laborer. His last residence was in Naples, he had $6 on him, and was going to his son Giovanni Micallo at 139 Bowery, NY. He was described as 5'3" in height, had grey hair, blue eyes, he had a scar(?) on his left cheek and was bald. On the basis that he was medically certified as senile and therefore likely to become a public charge, he was denied entry into the United States. He appealed the decision to exclude him entry into the United States, but the appeal was dismissed. While waiting for the decision on his appeal to be made, he consumed nine breakfasts, ten lunches, and nine suppers. On 7 December 1906 he was deported on the Roma for return back to Italy.
