- [S54] Conclusion, Rosenthal's transcription states: "Benjamin Kaufmann, 2. Sohn d. Benjamin Raphaël will die Tcht. d. Löw Simon in Landau heiraten u. bittet um Schutz in Weingarten A. Bretten.
Entscheidg."
The translation of the paragraph is: "Benjamin Kaufmann, second son of Benjamin Raphael wants to marry the daughter of Löw Simon in Landau and requests protection in Weingarten, District of Bretten. The questions arises, under which provisions is the financial contribution of this woman, coming from abroad, to be determined. The royal decree only deals with the wealth of foreign Jews who marry a local woman, but not the reverse case. Should § 7 N. 4 (which provides for a wealth of 4,000 florins for Mannheim) be applicable?
The government affirms the question, but refers back the decision.. - [S281] Obergrombach Cemtery List - Weingarten, Berthold Rosenthal, (Berthold Rosenthal Collection, Leo Baeck Institute, 15 West 16th St., New York, NY 10011, 1930s), Kaufmann b. Bime entry.
