    2. [S1005] Ralph Baer E-mail, Baer, Dr. Ralph, Per Ralph Baer:" The 1815 name adoption list for
Walldorf in the Rosenthal collection shows two Moses Loebs. 1) Moyses
Loeb, born 11 August 1772, (Vieh u. Leihhdl.) who became Moses Hirsch
and was married to Eva. He is clearly too young to be the person you
are interested in. 2) Moises Loeb, born 28 August 1747, (kl. Hdl,)
who kept the name Moses Loeb the older. His wife is listed as
Barbara, born 23 December 1750. This seems like the Moses who
interests you with a second wife. However, I have copied the death
      record from 22 September 1816 of K"obe? (G"ulle), wife of Moses L"ow
the older, age 69 or 70. The question mark is mine, and the given
name could easily be K"olle which is very often Karoline. Moses Loeb
himself appears to be missing in the records.

I have also seen the original of the 1801 census for Walldorf in the
Karlsruhe archives (records 77/3034) which shows Mos. L"ow Sn. with a
total of three members of the family (names not mentioned besides for
Moses). He was free from Schutz and was cattle and grain trader.".
