    Anecdote
    • Alfred Prager was a partner in the wood wholesale firm "Freundlich Brothers, Inc." (after 02 December 1937: Timber Trade, Inc.), located at Sonnenstraße 4. The other partners were his brother, Ludwig, brother-in-law, Julius Freundlich, and Nathan Katz, later the husband of his niece Cornelia, Dr. Rudolf Ritter und Edler von Paur. The business employed 25 people. In 1938 Alfred Prager and Dr. von Paur fell under suspicion of having broken the currency control law. In July 1938 he was arrested, but the incarceration was turned into a mandatory stay at the "Regina Palast Hotel," due to his poor health condition. He had to pay the costs of the stay himself. In August 1938 he was also investigated for suspicions of "Rassenschande." He was arrested on 16 August 1938 and was in Dachau after 10 November 1938.
