Anecdote Apr 1865 [3] - Morris established a foundry in April 1865, which was known as the La Crosse Foundry. He conducted this enterprise until 1889, when he disposed of the property and engaged in the manufacture of tents and awnings. He mad a specialty of awnings, tents, flags and banners, employing a number of men in the busy season. The business was located at 109 and 111 South Fifth Street.
