      Here is a quote from son Jack: "He also had a reputation for keeping a cool head and when in the panic of '07 the bottom dropped out of the market he realized if the day closed at the then prevailing prices just about everybody would be bankrupt, therefore, going against the panic trend, he bought right and left and made a mint for his firm."
